Due to the problematic MRT services, I decided to take a bus today. Here, my bus journey planner app comes in handy. It has been a long time since I depended solely on the bus to get around. I alighted at some wrong bus-stop in-between and had to make a detour. In the end, I still reached my destination but it was an experience itself.

The recent MRT breakdown incidents caused a big commotion in Singapore.

The spotlight was on the transport operator who was drawing flak for its inefficiency, poor communication and slow emergency response – poor planning.

By now, the blame game and finger-pointing have started. In the cyberspace, netizens didn’t minced their words.

I see the whole incident as a sign of poor situational awareness. To put it into perspective, machines do break down but they were not prepared and were exposed big time.
