Yesterday, I was at Johor Bahru with my parents. Drove around, did some shopping and ended up at ‘The Store’, Sentosa. When I was young, I used to visit this complex very often. In those days, my family have this habit of doing weekend getaways to JB. We used to do that very often until safety in JB becomes a growing concern. Now, that we are back. I realized that things have changed. ‘The Store’ is now undergoing a major revamp to keep up with the times. For now, it is generally very quiet with some shops. 10 years ago, this complex have its glorious days. Now the crowd had turned to Jusco@Tebrau City and Carrefour. I guess with this make-over, the crowd will return again.

Visited Johor Bahru with friends for a day’s trip and saw this. Warning of pick pockets in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. It reminded me of last year when I witnessed two theft cases in a single bus journey. It is as real as it gets, but still it doesn’t stop Singaporeans from going over for a getaway.

“Land of Thousand Smiles” banners at Suvarnabhumi Airport. This is the last post on my trip in Thailand. It has been a fruitful trip and I came back with lots of photos and thoughts. From being initially homesick, to seeing and exploring the city and having some life discovery moments, my posts on this trip has come to an end.

And school is starting soon. To read all the travel stories, they can be found in the tag cloud, tagged under “thailand“.

In the end, what did I learn? That life is very simple, and being happy is the most important, as cliche as it sounds it is really just about this – from the “Land of Thousand Smiles.”

In Bangkok, there are few green spaces. Besides Lumphini Park, there is another park I discovered – Benjakitti Park. It is located next to Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre MRT station or Sukhumvit MRT station. In this park, a large pond sits in the middle and it provide recreation for the people living in the Ratchadapisek and Rama IV area. I am quite a fan of green space and nature so this is a good place for some peace amid the bustling city.
