Holga with Fujifilm Velvia 50

Film: Fujifilm Velvia 50
Camera: Holga 120N

Here are the shots. Developed this roll at Peninsula Plaza. This time round, I request to scan the film to a CD instead of printing them out, cause its cheaper. But disappointing shots in the end. Very blue, dark and underexposed. Is the problem with the scanner, my camera or the ISO of the film?

And by the way, today the facebook vanity url created such a big wave, so many usernames were registered within the first few minutes it launched. And I just changed mine to “/edmundweeyuxin”. Of course I would prefer ending with “/edmundwee” but no choice, it’s already taken. But I am intriqued by this phenomenon, this rush for online identity.

Holga Street Snapshots

I realised i’ve not updated for some time. So here are some b/w photos i took a few weeks back. Just some random shots of the streets:

Flat for sale-A shot at maude road
Wishing for good fortune-Two person “molesting” the buddha :)
Indian temple-The indian temple beside guan yin miao
Within the comfort zone-Old people talking under the big umbrella

Guan Yin Miao- The temple that i normally go
Magical Salesman
-Outside guan yin miao, there’s this old man selling his medical oil but is performing magic at the same time to attract people. He claims he could use it to create things like rice, coffee and green beans.

Crowd Magnet
-The same old man above. I took 2 shots of him in total. I realised he is quite special and have a type of charisma that people will stop to listen to him speak…so in a way i see him as a magnet.
Elevator – Workers working in a back alley.

Holga Cross-Processing

When i received the photos from the shop, was surprised by the very strong contrast in colours because it’s using cross-processing, some turn out good but some too dark but i will post all of them below…

Malacca-Classic old houses.

Romantic-looking church

Dutch-influenced design-The Stadhuys Square

Classic Malacca street which is more classic than chinatown.

Satay stall and shops, but too dark cannot see the people eating inside :)

Quite scary how it turns out, is actually a mask on a mannequin display.

I dunno why i took this picture, but it reminds me of the kit-kat advertisement on tv where the guy help the girl to crush the drink cans, while the girl enjoys her kit-kat!

Hokkien mee-my favourite food :)

Back in S’pore

Today i just received my enlistment letter, i will be enlisting on 16 September! Finally! Btw also want to ask who interested in going Malaysia, back-pack or weekend trip?

Using Holga

I have been trying out Holga, i have never tried using film cameras before, and is also quite curious about the quality by this toy camera. Here are some of the photos, the others turns out blurry, no choice cannot delete the film…this is what traditional photography is about :)
