It was a rainy day but we made it in time to attend my cousin’s wedding in Johor Bahru. The causeway was heavily jammed due to school holidays and the rain worsened the traffic. However as my cousin had hired a mini-bus for us, we could use the bus lane and skipped the jam. Some of my other relatives who traveled on their own, had to endure a 2 hours jam on the causeway. But the reward was good food from the wedding dinner so it wasn’t that bad. Congrats to the couple.

ADM End-of-the-Year Party
G5 Class Dinner
The art history exam was over. In the evening, our class went out to celebrate. It also meant the end of examinations for some of us and the start of our holidays. As for me, I still got a Malay Exam on next Wednesday. But for now, I will just enjoy the food and company and look forward to tomorrow’s election. Exciting weekend ahead.
Spicy/Normal Hotpots
I didn’t go for drawing lesson in the morning, as I was feeling sick so I sleep till noon. In the afternoon, I had hotpot with my classmates in Bugis. As I was having sore-throat and cough, I ate the non-spicy chicken stock hotpot. It is a pity because I usually like the spicy soup-base. However it was still as nice, tasty soup and they had a large variety of food to choose from, but I ended up eating more vegetables as I was sick.
Orchard Road and NEX
I joined my mother, aunts and cousin shopping at Orchard Road. Being the only guy around, all I did was follow and helped carry shopping bags! It was really crowded with post-Christmas sales. However, I didn’t buy anything. But I thought being able to accompany my mother out is good enough, since she is always working and seldom visit town.
In the evening, we proceeded to NEX@Serangoon Central which recently just opened.
It is big mall with large varieties of retail stores. My impression of it is a maze. Moving around was quite confusing. Some floor levels have a descending escalators without an ascending escalators alongside it. Maybe the purpose is to trap shoppers in the mall as long as possible
The arrangement of retail outlets is quite random as some food outlets are located next to fashion outlets. I read in the news that the opening of NEX is actually pushed forward to meet the festive period.
Today is just a shopping trip. But from what I see, I agreed that women are greater shoppers than men. Without them, retail businesses will definitely suffer. Shopping actually saves the economy!
